I am currently stage III (see profile for mods). Last night I was just cruising around with my girlfriend about to go back to my college appartment when I noticed a ram air firebird behind me at a stoplight reving his engine. So......I said what the hell, let's see what he has. When the light turned green we accelerated away from other traffic around (he was right on my ass), as soon as he could he dropped a gear and pulled up beside me. As soon as we were even with one another going about 30mph (I was in 2nd gear) we both floored it. I got a slight jump on him and by the end of second gear he was dead even with my rear quarter panel, after redlining second... I quickly shifted to third .....thinking I would walk on him a little in this gear but I could not pull on him any more. I could not pull on him and he could not pull on me. I consider myself a good driver so I would feel confortable to say that a WS6 ram air firebird and a stage III Z are very similar in strait line performance. I have beaten a 99 SVT cobra, 96 vette and even a 94 bpu supra from 70mph-120mph (the supra was starting to pull back on my before we had to let off because of traffic) but the WS6 firebird really surprised me.. My hats off to him but I think his hat is off to the Z also...
